Artist Spotlight on Faye Jackson (Changeling)
In the coming weeks, we will be filling the blog with Artist Spotlights comprised of footage from the 2019 Horrible Imaginings Film Festival. Return often to hear more from these strong creatives about their processes and more!
"It's never my own little daughter,
It's never my own," she said;
"The witches have stolen my Anna,
And left me an imp instead.”-John Greenleaf Whittier, 1894
Without a doubt, Faye Jackson is a director to look out for. Last year’s The Old Woman Who Hid Her Fear Under the Stairs took home an award for its lead Sara Kestelman. We were thrilled to see another submission from her, and we were not disappointed. We often hear about how birthing a child can mean a complete obliteration of one’s self for the sake of one’s offspring — Changeling takes that to a whole new level! It had it’s World Premiere at Horrible Imaginings!
Enjoy the first of our new series “5(ish) Minutes With,” where our own Jay Kay sits down with Faye to chat about her film. Some highlights from the Q&A are included!
